Description

Join us for an inter-cultural Ramadan meal and an inter-faith discussion on feasting and fasting in different faith traditions. A panel of speakers representing the Christian, Hindu, Jewish, and Muslim faiths will discuss the significance of fasting in their traditions. A buffet dinner with vegetarian, Kosher-style, and Halal options will follow the panel discussion and Q&A, along with a pause to observe maghreb prayer at sun-down. A fun Ramadan trivia game will follow dinner.

Never fasted before? Try fasting for the day and then break your fast communally with the other guests. Whether or not you are fasting, we invite you to consider making a small donation of food or cash representing what you normally spend in a day on food. Contributions will be directed toward the Burlington Masjid Food Pantry, serving refugees and needy families. They are in need of the following food items:

Basmati rice

Cooking oil

Dry brown lentils

Dry chickpeas

Dry white beans

Salt

Sugar

Spaghetti

Tuna
